4 Video Editing Software For YouTube Beginners In 2020

When I started on YouTube, I was looking for a decent video editing software that can simply cut and arrange video clips.

However, I had a big challenge in finding out good inexpensive video editing software.

There were too many recommendations and I was left confused about which one to pick.

All I wanted to do was make YouTube videos with some slide show pictures and voice over without showing my face on camera.

I do not want to jump into some professional video editing software before getting started on YouTube.

Even now, I do not want to invest a lot of money on a video editing software, since I need them only for editing my YouTube videos.

So, if you are a beginner and looking for the best video editing software for your YouTube videos, you have come to the right place.

In this article, I have covered four video editing software, including the one that I am currently using to edit all my videos.

So without further ado, let’s get started.

Shotcut

Shotcut is the first video editing software that I started with, and it is entirely free to use open-source software.

I use a windows laptop, and it was working perfectly fine without any issue concerning the system lag or anything of that sort.

It is also compatible with Mac and Linux. So, you should not have a problem with downloading this software and using it.

However, some basic features like adding text overlay are not so appealing or intuitive when compared to the other tools that I have discussed below.

Shotcut is definitely it’s a good video editing tool to get started but would not recommend for longterm use.

So, give it a shot if you are just trying to figure out things about video editing 🙂

Flimora

Flimora is another video editing software that I tried and currently, my dad is using it 🙂

The software is stable and you can use it on a normal laptop or PC and you do not need high GB RAM or an amazing graphics card.

All you need to do is run an exe file and start editing the videos right away since there is a minimal learning curve.

It has a simple interface, and you will not be overwhelmed, unlike the other video editing software.

You can cut clips, add a text overlay, add nice background music to your videos.

These are the things that you would want to do as a YouTuber.

Also, there are more features to it like adding keyframe animation, adding some HTML or CSS to your videos but you may not need them most of the time.

There is a free version which you can try on both Windows and Mac.

They also have a premium version with a very cheap one-time fee and you get all the future updates till your lifetime.

Who should use?

It is recommended for making YouTube videos, Family videos, and social media videos.

DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is one of the best free video editing software for professional video editing.

You can do a lot of things with DaVinci, similar to Adobe Premier.

It can be a video editor, color corrector, audio mixer, VFX compositor, and whatnot.

This makes it an all in one post-production platform.

Some prefer Adobe Premier, and some would prefer Davinci Resolve.

I’m not a big fan of Adobe Premier because I am not into professional video editing and interested in making quick YouTube videos.

If you are a first time user, it can be daunting to look at the interface and get overwhelmed quickly.

However, if you are interested in learning a professional video editor, then you will fall in love with this software.

Who should use?

I recommend this software if you are passionate about video editing.

But if you are using it only for YouTube video editing purposes and prefer to invest more of your time on YouTube SEO like Click-through rate, watch time, etc, then you should avoid using Davinci Resolve.

Movavi

Movavi is the video editing software that I am currently using.

It is perfect for people who do not have a lot of time to create or edit their videos.

Pretty much everything can be done with few clicks of a button.

It is fantastic for compilation videos and no other software can do it as fast as Movavi.

It is the most easy to use software with all the essential features available in one place.

The software is super cool when you are making videos without showing your face as you can use the inbuilt voiceover feature for every clip.

I also like the templates available for you to choose and add intros and outros.

So, if you want to put something together that is high in quality and easy to use then Movai is the best software.

Similar to Flimora, Movavi also has a one time fee to use it for your life.

You can try the free version of the software and then make a decision.

Who should use it?

If you want to use this software for professional video editing, then it’s not for you.

Movavi is for you if your intension is to make quick and engaging YouTube or any video for that matter and do not want to invest time in learning a video editing software.

I hope you found this article informative and picked one among my list of video editing software for YouTube.
