To Save and download images in Canva is straightforward. However, sometimes you may find it challenging to identify certain options within Canva to download the pages in a certain format.
So in this article, I have covered how to save and download images and files in Canva in different formats based on your needs.

How to save or download an image in Canva to your computer?
Click the download button on the top right corner of the screen
Select the file type from the dropdown menu and click the download button.
The image in Canva will be saved to your computer.
Below are some of the available file types to download to your computer:
- PNG
- JPG
- PDF Standard
- PDF Print
- SVG
- MP4 Video
- GIF
Also, note that you can modify the size of the image before downloading by using the size bar in the dropdown menu.
If you would like to keep the image transparent then you can check the transparent background checkbox.
And if you are downloading multiple images or a pdf with multiple pages, you also have an option to compress them within Canva before saving them to your computer.
However, all these features are available only to the Canva pro users.
How to save a Canva design as a template?
You can save a Canva design as a template using two methods.
Method 1:
First, save your design by going to the File menu and select Save. You can rename the default file name using the title bar at the top of the screen.
Once you have saved your design then you can use that file as a template and create multiple copies to the same.
You can copy a Canva file by going to the File menu and selecting “Make a copy”.
After you do that, you will find the design is copied as a new file and available to use as a template in a new tab.
You can repeat the same process whenever you need to create a new design based on the template file that you created.
Method 2:
You can also use a design as a template within the same file by duplicating the page. This feature is useful when you want to maintain the same layout of design style on all your pages.
To achieve that, just click the page on your canvas and click the duplicate button.
Now you have a template page that you can duplicate as many times as you need.
How to save a poster in Canva?
You can download a poster in Canva by selecting “PDF Print” as a file type in the download section.
PDF Print is recommended for posters since those provide high printing quality.
If you are looking to download just the digital format of the poser and would like to scale the size then you can choose the “SVG” file format.
SVG format allows you to increase or decrease the size as per your need without any pixilation.
Also, if you are looking to order your poster directly from Canva. You can do so by choosing a size and the number of copies.

How to save or download as a pdf in Canva?
You can easily save an image or a list of pages as a PDF in Canva by choosing either “PDF Standard” or “PDF Print” from the download file menu.
However, in “PDF Standard” you do not have an option to Crop marks and bleed but in “PDF Print” you can crop the marks and bleed.
So, make sure to pick the right option depending on your requirements.

Use the share option in Canva to download a presentation as ppt in Canva.
Here are the steps in detail.
Step 1: Go to Settings
Click the three dots in the top right corner to access the settings menu in Canva
Step 2: Find Microsoft PowerPoint
Now find and select Microsoft PowerPoint under the share section. If you don’t find it in the current view, click see all to view all the supported applications.
After you have located Microsoft PowerPoint, click to select.
Step 3: Download as PPT
Finally, click download to download your work on Canva as a PowerPoint presentation.
You have successfully downloaded the presentation pages in Canva as ppt to your device.
How to save or upload an image from your computer to Canva?
Uploading images or video files to Canva is simple and can be easily done from the home page or while you are designing.
Steps to upload images to Canva from the homepage.
Step 1: Navigate to the homepage
Login to Canva or go to the home page to find all the sections and features available within Canva.
Step 2: Go to the Folders section
Navigate to the “All your folders” section available from the side menu to access the files section.
Step 3: Upload images
Click “Uploads” and again click upload to add images from your system to Canva.
You can press and hold control while selecting files to upload multiple images to Canva.

Click “Uploads” button available below the templates tab in the sidebar to access the media files area.
Step 2: Upload images
